You read the title of the video. Let’s check out 10 things WWE secretly told us at Crown Jewel, Smackdown and Raw.
Crown Jewel is more than an overseas house show
For a long time, WWE has done pretty much everything it can to make its Saudi Arabian shows seem like a bigger deal than they really are. Massive Battle Royals, an over-dependency on pyro and relying on pretty much every part-timer or legend under the sun has meant that Crown Jewel has often been one of WWE’s biggest shows of the year. While the shows have had tons of style, they have been painfully lacking in substance, with titles rarely changing hands on the show, as the company preferred to rely on multi-man ‘World Cup’ competitions to get as many stars on the show as possible. But things changed this time around though. Most people expected Seth Rollins to find a way to defeat The Fiend and hang on to his Universal Championship. WWE had booked itself into a corner with the feud, so it had two choices; either book another nonsensical ending, or actually pull the trigger and make The Fiend Universal Champion. Pretty much no one thought that The Fiend would actually win at Crown Jewel, because WWE had usually shied away from crowning new champions in Saudi Arabia. But not this time. The Fiend actually defeated Rollins and became Universal Champion to close out the show, with WWE telling the world that Crown Jewel is more than an overseas house show.
