1932 Landini 40Hp Hot Bulb Tractor Start-Up, Smoke & Bangs! - Accensione Trattore Testa Calda

I had the pleasure of filming the start-up of this antique 1932 Landini 40Hp Hot Bulb tractor. We are at the "Aratura Trattori d'Epoca - Sagra di San Lorenzo 2020" (3rd Plowing Party for Vintage Tractors) organized by the Trattoristi Ferraresi d'Epoca Group. You can rarely see these ancient vehicles in operation, and I didn't miss the opportunity to follow all the procedures that allow the engine to start. After heating the metal cap with the flame, some strong thrusts are applied to the flywheels to allow the piston to be compressed, and the combustion started. This Landini has a primitive and simple cooling system consisting of a tank called "Vasca", filled with water and located externally in close contact with the cylinder liner. The water evaporates slowly but at the same time directly cools the cylinder barrel without the aid of a radiator. The engine has a displacement of 14 litres, a single-piston, and a gearbox with three forward speeds plus one reverse. Ho avuto il piacere i filmare l'accensione di questo antico trattore Landini 40Hp Testa Calda del 1932. Ci troviamo alla 3° Festa con Aratura per Trattori d'Epoca che si è svolta a Baura (FE) durante la Sagra di San Lorenzo 2020 organizzata dal Gruppo Trattoristi Ferraresi d'Epoca. Raramente si possono vedere questi antichi veicoli in funzione e non mi sono fatto sfuggire l'occasione di seguire tutta la procedura che permette l'avviamento del motore. Dopo aver riscaldando con la fiamma la calotta metallica si imprimono alcune robuste spinte sui volani per permette la compressione del pistone e l'innesco della combustione. Questo Landini dispone di un primitivo e semplice sistema di raffreddamento formato da un serbatoio chiamato “vasca”, riempito con acqua e situato esternamente a stretto conttatto con la canna del cilindro. L'acqua evapora lentamente ma la contempo raffredda in maniera diretta la canna del cilindro senza l'ausilio di un radiatore. Il motore ha una cilindrata di 14 litri, un solo pistone ed è dotato di cambio con tre marce per avanzamento più una di retromarcia.
