1959 Jaguar MK1 VS 2018 Jaguar XE SV Project 8 - Virtual Comparison - Goodwood Festival of Speed FOS

This is a virtual comparison video between the 1959 Jaguar MK1 and the new 2018 Jaguar XE SV Project 8. We are at the latest two editions of the Goodwood Festival of Speed ​​(FOS). After 60 years, the British brand returns to the market with an exclusive sedan equipped with a large supercharged 5.0-litre V8 engine capable of developing 600hp and 700Nm of torque. The performances are incredible, from 0-100 in 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 322 Km/h. To stop it we find a braking system consisting of carbon-ceramic discs, the front 400mm ones with 6-piston calipers. The gearbox is eight-speed, four-wheel drive, and the overall weight of the car is about 1,750Kg. Some interesting information is an aerodynamic load equal to 122Kg at the speed of 300Km/h if you choose to install the aerodynamic package which also includes the large rear wing. The XE SV lapped on the Nürburgring Nordschleife track in an extraordinary time of 7 minutes and 21.2 seconds. Production is limited to 300 units, each assembled by hand in the SVO special vehicle department located in Warwickshire, England. Do you think that with a jump back of 60 years the MK1 of 1959 cannot hold its own? Well, clearly the difference in performance is huge, but certainly not the fun. In the hands of an experienced and aggressive pilot, Grant Williams, this car with 60 springs under its belt wowed the public. It's one of three sedans built and prepared for racing in 1959, this one, in Pearl Gray colour, delivered new to Mr John Coom in March. The 30th edition of the Goodwood race was run with the BUY1 license plate, and it was driven by Roy Salvadori who finished second behind one of the three competition MK1s, the Indigo Blue one, driven by Ivor Bueb. It's equipped with a 3.4-litre in-line 6-cylinder engine with a triple carburettor. The car has aluminium doors and hood, modified suspension, increased fuel tanks and racing bucket seats. Owned by the Williams family since 1962!

Dopo 60 anni il marchio inglese torna sul mercato con un'esclusiva berlina dotata di un grosso motore da 5.0-Litri V8 sovralimentato capace di sviluppare 600cv e 700Nm di coppia. Le prestazioni sono da urlo, da 0-100 in 3.7 secondi ed una velocità massima di 322 Km/h. Per arrestarla troviamo un'impianto frenante composto da dischi carboceramici, quelli anteriori da 400mm con pinze a 6 pistoncini. Il cambio è ad otto rapporti, la trazione integrale ed il peso complessivo dell'auto è di circa 1.750Kg. Alcuni informazioni interessanti sono un carico aerodinamico pari a 122Kg alla velocità di 300Km/h se si sceglie di installare il pacchetto aerodinamico che comprende anche la grossa ala posteriore. Sulla pista del Nürburgring Nordschleife ha girato in uno straordinario tempo di di 7 minuti e 21,2 secondi. La produzone è limitata a 300 esemplari, ciascuno dei quali assemblati a mano nel reparto veicoli speciali SVO situato nel Warwickshire, in Inghilterra. Pensate che con un salto indietro di 60 anni la MK1 del 1959 non regga il confronto? Beh, chiaramente la differenza prestazionale è enorme, ma non certo il divertimento. Nelle mani dell'esperto ed aggressivo pilota Grant Williams questa vettura con 60 primavere alle spalle ha entusiasmato il pubblico. Si tratta di una delle tre berline costruite e preparate nel 1959 per le competizioni, di colore Pearl Grey fu consegnata nuova a Mr. John Coom nel mese di Marzo. Corse per la prima volta la trentesima edizione della gara di Goodwood con la targa BUY1. In quell'occasione fu pilotata da Roy Salvadori che arrivò secondo dietro ad una delle tre MK1 da competizione, quella di colore Indigo Blue, guidata da Ivor Bueb. È dotata di un motore a 6 cilindri in linea da 3,4 litri con triplo carburatore. L'auto ha portiere e cofano in alluminio, sospensioni modificate, serbatoi maggiorati e sedili avvolgenti da corsa. Appartine alla famiglia Williams dal 1962!
