1977 Shadow DN8 F1 - 3.0-Litre V8 Ford Cosworth DFV Engine - AvD Oldtimer Grand Prix Nürburgring

I had the pleasure of filming the 1977 Shadow DN8 F1 [Formula One] car (Chassis 6A) ex Riccardo Patrese at the Nürburgring racetrack during the 2018-2019 AvD Oldtimer Grand Prix. This single-seater, driven by Jason Wright takes part in the races of the FIA ​​Masters Historic Formula One Championship. The 1977 Shadow DN8 was designed by Tony Southgate in collaboration with Dave Wassand and adopted a 3.0-litre Ford Cosworth DFV 90º V8 naturally aspirated engine combined with a 5-speed Hewland TL 200 manual transmission. The power unit develops around 500hp at 10,600 rpm, the frame construction consists of an aluminium monocoque. Total weight of the car is about 600Kg. Driven by Alan Jones, it won the 1977 Austrian Grand Prix, Shadow's only Grand Prix victory and Riccardo Patrese scored a point with sixth place in the Japanese Grand Prix.

Ho avuto il piacere di filmare la Shadow DN8 telaio 6A, vettura di Formula Uno [F1] del 1977 ex Riccardo Patrese, sulla pista del Nürburgring durante le edizioni 2018-2019 dell'AvD Oldtimer Grand Prix. Questa monoposto, pilotata da Jason Wright prende parte alle gare del FIA Masters Historic Formula One Championship. La vettura fu progettata da Tony Southgate in collaborazione con Dave Wassand ed adotta un motore da 3.0 litri Ford Cosworth DFV 90º V8 aspirato abbinato ad un cambio manuale Hewland TL 200 a 5 rapporti. La potenza sviluppata è di circa 500cv a 10.600 giri/min e la costruzione del telaio è formata da una monoscocca in alluminio. Peso totale della monoposto circa 600Kg. Guidata da Alan Jones vinse il Gran Premio d'Austria nel 1977, miglior risultato della Shadow in F1 mentre Riccardo Patrese ottenne un punto con il sesto posto nel Gran Premio del Giappone.
