After two years I was able to see again in action 2x BMW M1 Procar during the Classic Endurance Racing at the 2016 Imola Classic event. This car is really crazy, built like a one-make auto racing series created by Jochen Neerpasch (BMW Motorsport head) that was compete together professional drivers from the Formula One World Championship, World Sportscar Championship, European Touring Car Championship, and other international series using identically modified BMW M1 sports cars. The championship served as support races for various European rounds of the 1979 and 1980 Formula One season. The car engine is a 3.453 cc BMW M88 straight-6 modified by Paul Rosche and capable of producing 470 hp at 9.000 rpm. With only 1.020 kg of weight the M1 Procar performance were remarkable, acceleration from 0–100 km/h in 4.3 seconds and a top speed of 311 Km/h. Enjoy the huge exhaust flames and some scenes filmed ate the Imola racetrack ;-)

Dopo 2 anni ho potuto rivedere in azione un paio di BMW M1 Procar durante la Classic Endurance racing all'Imola Classic 2016. Questa vettura è davvero pazzesca, costruita per un'unica ed usclusiva serie monomarca voluta da Jochen Neerpasch, all'epoca capo della BMW Motorsport GMBH con l'intento di veder gareggiare assieme piloti provenienti dai campionati di Formula 1, campionato mondiale sportcar, campionato europeo turismo ed altre serie. Tutti a sfidarsi con un'unica ed uguale vettura, la BMW M1 appunto in questo specie di campionato a supporto delle stagioni di Formula 1 negli anni 1979 e 1980. La vettura monta il motore BMW M88 a 6 cilindri in linea da 3.453 cc modificato da Paul Roche e capace di sviluppare 470 cv a 9.000 giri/min. Con un peso di soli 1.020 kg le prestazioni della vettura sono notovoli, capace di staccare uno 0-100 km/h in 4.3 secondi e raggiungendo una velocità massima di 311 Km/h. Godetevi le enormi sfiammate che escono dallo scarico riprese durante alcuni giri all'interno dell'Autodromo di Imola ;-)
