In a game that went down to the wire, Team USA fell to Finland 3-2. Finland got on the board first with two goals in the first 13 minutes of the game. Then halfway through the first period Frank Vatrano scored to bring the US within one. Just a minute into the third period, Alternate Captain Connor Murphy scored the equalizer for the U.S. Finland was able to score on a power play to take the lead and some close chances by the US in the final minute of the game came up short.

Team USA will have the next two days without games. Head Coach Hynes said the team will take Tuesday off completely and then hold a practice on Wednesday. They will resume tournament play against France on Thursday at 4:15 p.m. local time / 9:15 a.m. ET.
