In its opening game at the 2017 IIHF Under-18 Men's World Championship, the United States beat Belarus 7-0. Thirteen different players were on the scoresheet in the win and Oliver Wahlstrom lead the team with two goals. Goaltender Dylan St. Cyr stopped all 17 shots he faced in the win.
