2019 Goodwood Record-Breaking VW ID.R driven by Romain Dumas - Full Electric HillClimb Monster!

The VW ID.R driven by Romain Dumas is the new Hillclimb Record-Breaking car of the 2019 Goodwood Festival of Speed. The previous record established in 1999 by Nick Heidfeld at the steering wheel of a 780 hp F1 McLaren-Mercedes MP4/13 has now been 1.7 seconds lowered! The new time is an impressive 39.9 seconds and was obtained on Friday. In the Shootout stage that took place on Sunday with slightly damp asphalt, the time was 41.18 seconds. Incredible performance achieved thanks to the strong driver Romain Dumas and some changes to the vehicle that the VW has made compared to 2018, including a smaller battery that allowed to bring the total weight to under 1000 kg. The delivery power from ID.R is equivalent to 680 hp. Too bad it's no longer possible to set a new record with the current Formula 1 single-seaters. I'm sure that the record could be lowered again!

Ebbene si, la VW ID R "Pikes Peak" da cronoscalata ha ottenuto il nuovo record sul tracciato in salita del Goodwood Festival of Speed edizione 2019. Quello che però impressiona è il fatto di quanto abbia polverizzato il vecchio tempo appartenente a Nick Heidfeld che lo aveva stabilito nel 1999 volante di una McLaren-Mercedes MP4/13 di F1 da 780 Cv. Il nuovo tempo è ora 39,9 secondi, ben 1,7 secondi in meno rispotto alla monoposto McLaren-Mercedes ed è stato stabilito il Venerdì dell'intero weekend di gara. Nello Shootout che si è svolto la Domenica con asfalto un po' umido, il tempo non è stato di 41.18 secondi. Prestazioni incredibili ottenute grazie al fortissimo pilota Romain Dumas, detentore con quest'auto del record alla Pikes Peak ed alcune modifiche alla vettura che la vw ha apportato rispetto al 2018 fra cui un una batteria più piccola che ha permesso di portare il peso totale al di sotto dei 1000 kg. La potenza erogara dalla ID.R è equivalente a 680 cv. Peccato non sia più possibile tentare il record con le attuali monoposto di Formula 1. Sarei convinto che potrebbero nuovamente abbassare e di molto, il record appena stabilito dall VW elettrica.
