You couldn’t have scripted it more perfectly! In his final innings for England, Alastair Cook struck a wonderful hundred to the utter delight of the Oval crowd. In doing so Cook became the most prolific left-handed batsmen to ever play the game. After setting India 464 to win, Jimmy Anderson closed in on his own mega milestone – equalling Glenn McGrath’s record for most wickets taken by a fast bowler in Tests. Anderson will step out tomorrow hoping to make history, but today belongs to Alastair Cook.
