Finally, in action, the long-awaited Ferrari SF71h filmed during the pre-season tests at the Montmelo racetrack, Barcelona. The new car is called to do better respect the previous SF70h, Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen are behind the wheel again in the 2018 season. In this car, the wheelbase was slightly lengthened, modified the side encumbrances and the cooling system. The power unit has been improved and must absolutely be reliable given the only 3 engines available for the entire season to avoid penalties during the championship. What is new to the eye is definitely the Halo drivers safety system, weighing 7kg. During the tests, the new SF71h showed immediately fast scoring and the second day best time lap, ahead of Mercedes and Redbull.

Ecco finalmente in azione la tanto attesa Ferrari SF71h filmata durante i test di pre-campionato presso la pista di Montmelò, Barcellona. La nuova monoposto è chiamata a compiere l'impresa che è sfuggita alla precedente SF70h e per farlo saranno nuovamente Sebastian Vettel e Kimi Raikkonen al volante nella stagione 2018. In questa monoposto l'interasse è stato leggermente allungato, modificati gli ingombri laterali ed il sistema di raffreddamento. La power unit è stata migliorata e deve assolutamente essere affidabile visti i soli 3 motori diponibili per l'intera stagione onde evitare penalità in campionato. Novità che balza all'occhio è sicuramente il sistema di sicurezza Halo dal peso di 7kg e posizianto a protezione dei piloti. Durante i test la nuova SF71h si è mostrata subito veloce segnando il miglior tempo nella seconda giornata, precedendo Mercedes e Redbull.
