James Harden recorded his 24th consecutive game with 30+ points as he tallied 37 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists for the Rockets in a 121-116 loss to the Pelicans tonight in Houston. Harden’s 24 consecutive games with 30+ points is the 4th longest such streak in NBA history (longest such streak since 1976-77), behind three separate streaks from Wilt Chamberlain (25 games, 31 games and 65 games). Harden is averaging 40+ points over his last 29 games, the third-longest such streak in NBA history (E. Baylor with 33 games and W. Chamberlain with 515 games) and has been the outright leading scorer (for both teams) in each of his last 24 games, the third-longest streak of its kind in NBA history, behind Wilt Chamberlain (40 straight games in 1962) and Bob McAdoo (28 in 1975). Jahlil Okafor led the Pelicans with a season-high 27 points (11-15 FG), to go with 12 rebounds, while Jrue Holiday added 19 points, 8 rebounds and a career-high 6 blocks in the victory. With the win, the Pelicans improve to 23-28, while the Rockets fall to 29-21 on the season.
