Georg Plasa Hommage - 560 Hp BMW e36 JUDD V8 Engine - Hillclimb Monster in Action at FOS 2018

An Hommage to the legendary German champion Georg Plasa, king of the Hill climbs and his BMW 320i V8 JUDD 560cv was celebrated at the 2018 edition of the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Unfortunately, as we know, the Munich driver's career was turned off in 2011 after a tragic accident that occurred in the 50th Coppa Bruno Carotti in Rieti, Italy. On that occasion, he was behind the wheel of another incredible car, the BMW 134 V8 JUDD.
The car you see in this video is his first creation, self-built and we can say that since it was presented and taken in the race, completely changed the size and level of the cars from Hill climbs. The quality of the components, the well-kept construction left no doubt that it would be the queen of the category. The owner of KW Suspensions, a great friend of Plasa, bought the car with the intent to preserve it but also thanks to Georg's family desire, has been restored to its best form, ready to compete. This happened for the first time at Goodwood with the driver and friend Jörg Weidinger behind the wheel, who not only showed the enormous potential of the car but reached the incredible third overall time of the weekend in the Shootout race, that is disputed every year in the Lord March's track.

Un'omaggio al mitico campione tedesco Georg Plasa, re delle cronoscalate ed alla sua BMW 320i V8 JUDD da 560cv è stato celebrato all'edizione 2018 del Goodwood Festival of Speed. Come purtroppo sappiamo la carriera del pilota di Monaco di Baviera si è spenta nel 2011 dopo un tragico incidente accorso nella cronoscalata 50 ° Coppa Bruno Carotti a Rieti, in Italia. In quell'occasione era al volante di un'altra sua incredibile vettura, la BMW 134 V8 JUDD.
L'auto che vedete in questo video è la sua prima creazione, autocostruita e possiamo affermare che da quando venne presentata e portata in gara, cambiò completamente la dimensione ed il livello dellle vetture da Cronoscalata. La qualità dei componenti, la realizzazione curatissima non lasciavano dubbi sul fatto che sarebbe stata la regina della categoria. Il proprietario della KW Suspensions, grande amico di Plasa, acquitò la vettura con l'intento di preservarla ma anche grazia al volere della famiglia di Georg è stata restaurata e riportata alla sua forma migliore, pronta per gareggiare. Questo è avvenuto per la prima volta a Goodwood con al volante il pilota ed amico Jörg Weidinger che non solo ha mostrato l'enorme potenziale della vettura ma ha raggiunto l'incredibile terzo tempo assoluto del weekeend nella Shootout, la salita a tempo che si disputa ogni anno nel tracciato della tenuta di Lord March.
