Gli Scultori Della Velocità - Maestri Carrozzieri Modenesi by ModenArt - Bologna 2023 [SUBTITLES]

On Thursday, February 2, the exhibition "The Sculptors of Speed" was inaugurated at the Palace of the Legislative Assembly of Emilia Romagna in Bologna. It's a superb exhibition of "mannequins" or "Mock-Ups" of the most beautiful bodywork made in aluminium by the Modenese master coachbuilders. The association is called ModenArt and brings together the latest sheet metal workers (a very simplistic term, I would say sculptors) who have worked at Carrozzeria Scaglietti. From their expert hands came masterpieces such as the Ferrari 250 GTO, 250 Tour de France, 250 SWB, 250 Testarossa, 250 Spider California, 330 P3/P4, Shelby Dayrona Coupè, Maserati Tipo 151/3, Bugatti EB110. These cars, on an aesthetic level, with the use of the "Filone" technique, the iron pipes that function as mannequins to create the 1:1 scale model and then beat the sheet metal into it to give it its shape, are on display here. Also present at the inauguration were the Master Coachbuilders, still alive, who worked on creating these awesome masterpieces. As the late art critic Philippe Daverio called them, the "Last Platonists". We are talking about people like Afro Gibellini and Oriello Leonardi. ModenArt is a project born from the idea of Jean-Marc Borel (we will all remember how he was the director of Bugatti Automobili in Campogalliano) and helped, among others, by Antonio Ghini, for years Communication and Brand Director of Ferrari Automobili. The exhibition will remain visible to the public, free of charge, from 2 to 12 February 2023, Viale Aldo Moro 50, Bologna. Enjoy! ????

Giovedì 2 Febbraio si è svolta l'naugurazione della mostra "Gli Scultori della Velocità" presso il Palazzo dell'Assemblea Legislativa del'Emilia Romagna a Bologna. Si tratta di una splendida esposizione di "manichini" o "Mock-Up" delle più belle carrozzerie realizzato a mano, in alluminio, dai Maestri Carrozzieri Modenesi. L'associazione di chiama ModenArt e riunisce gli ultimi battilastra (termine molto riduttivo, direi scultori) che hanno lavorato alla Carrozzeria Scaglietti. Dalle loro sapienti mani sono usciti capolavori quali le Ferrari 250 GTO, 250 Tour de France, 250 SWB, 250 Testarossa, 250 Spider California, 330 P3/P4, Shelby Dayrona Coupè, Maserati Tipo 151/3, Bugatti EB110. Queste vetture, a livello estetico, con l'utilizzo della tecnica del "Filone", i tubi di ferro che funzionano da manichino per realizzare il modello in scala 1:1 per poi batterci la lamiera per darne la forma, sono qui in esposizione. Presenti all'inaugurazione anche gli stessi Maestri Carrozzieri, ancora in vita, che hanno lavorato alla realizzazione di questi splendidi capolavori. Come li definì il compianto critico d'arte Philippe Daverio, gli "Ultimi Platonici". Stiamo parlando di persone quali Afro Gibellini ed Oriello Leonardi. ModenArt è un progetto nato dall'idea di Jean-Marc Borel (ricorderemo tutti come fosse il direttore della Bugatti Automobili a Campogalliano) ed aiutato tra gli altri da Antonio Ghini, per anni Direttore Comunicazione e Brand della Ferrari Automobili. La mostra resterà visibile al pubblico, gratuitamente, dal 2 al 12 Febbraio 2023, Viale Aldo Moro 50, Bologna. Buona visione! ????
