Juan Pablo Montoya Test the Ferrari F2008 [F1] at Mugello Circuit - Finali Mondiali Ferrari 2021

Juan Pablo Montoya is still a very fast driver. This is the consideration I draw after seeing him aboard the Ferrari F2008 during the 2021 edition of the Ferrari Finali Mondiali. We are on the Mugello circuit during the session dedicated to private customers who own single-seaters. Montoya was invited to try the F2008 single-seater, and the show was not lacking! The Colombian driver, let us remember, is champion of the International F3000 in 1998, of the Formula CART in 1999 and two-time winner of the Indianapolis 500 in 2000 and 2015. He counts three victories at the 24 Hours of Daytona in 2007, 2008, and 2013, 7 successes in the Formula 1 Grand Prix, winner of a Race of Champions in 2017 and the IMSA SportsCar WeaterTech championship in 2019. As you well understand, his foot is not lacking. He drove the F2008, a car that in 2008 won the constructors' title in the Formula 1 World Championship, at the time with drivers Kimi Räikkönen and Felipe Massa. The single-seater, designed by Aldo Costa, is powered by the Ferrari 056 engine, a 2.4-litre V8 capable of developing 750hp combined with a 7-speed longitudinal gearbox + reverse. Car with honeycomb carbon fibre monocoque is exceptionally light, only 605 kg.

Juan Pablo Montoya è ancora un pilota velocissimo. E' questa la considerazione che traggo dopo averlo visto a bordo della Ferrari F2008 durante l'edizione 2021 del Finali Mondiali Ferrari. Ci troviamo sul circuito del Mugello durante la sessione dedicata ai clienti privati possessori delle monoposto del cavallino. Montoya è stato invitato a provare la monoposto F2008 e lo spettacolo non è mancato! Il pilota colombiano, ricordiamolo è campione della F3000 Internazionale nel 1998, della Formula CART nel 1999 e due volte vincitore della 500 Miglia di Indianapolis nel 2000 e nel 2015. Annovera tre vittorie alla 24 Ore di Daytona nel 2007, 2008, e 2013, 7 successi nei Gran Premi di Formula 1, vincitore di una Race of Champions nel 2017 e del campionato IMSA SportsCar WeaterTech nel 2019. Come ben capite il piede non gli manca. Ha guidato la F2008, vettura che nel 2008 ha vinto il titolo costruttori nel campionato del Mondo di Formula 1, all'epoca con i piloti Kimi Räikkönen e Felipe Massa. La monoposto, progettata da Aldo Costa è mossa dal motore Ferrari 056, un V8 da 2.4-Litri capace di sviluppare 750cv abbinato ad un cambio longitudinale a 7 rapporti + retromarcia. Vettura con monoscocca in fibra di carbonio a nido d'ape è estremamente leggera, solo 605 Kg.
