What you see is an original Lancia Delta Integrale HF Turbo Gr.A Safari. Specifically, it is the 1990 16v model with which Alex Fiorio and Luigi Pirollo took part in the Safari Rally of Kenya. On that occasion, they had to withdraw due to engine failures. The engine is the 2.0-liter Turbo 16v that develops about 300hp; the whole car has Group A specifications. So we find it permanent all-wheel drive with ZF self-locking differential on the front, epicyclic central differential with Ferguson viscous coupling with limited slip and Torsen differential on the rear. There are differences in the gear ratio of the 6-speed gearbox which has been lengthened to allow higher speed in the many straight sections that made up the Rally Raid special stages. From the video, you can see the raised structure and the additional depth lights both at the front, where the Bull-Bar is also housed and in the part of the hood near the windshield. The whole structure of the body has also been stiffened. There is also the presence of little doors that can be opened on the roof of the car with the task of ventilating the crew compartment more due to the high temperatures of the African Rally. We have to thank the owner who very kindly allowed us to insert an onboard action cam during a few laps at the Modena Circuit.
