The Return of the Wrestling Report!
So it seems as though there could be some major changes to come in the foreseeable future, in regards to Smackdown Live. It looks as though WWE are in the works with NBC in getting a new television deal for their shows. However, NBC is showing more interest in Raw than Smackdown, but this could still lead to Smackdown being picked up and even turning into a 3 hour show. This could even lead to Smackdown being placed on Fox after WWE’s deal with NBCU expires in September. Also, there are even talks of what USA will do upon losing Monday Night Raw and Smackdown Live. It has even gone so far as to be rumored that USA is considering replacing the WWE products with another wrestling promotion such as Impact wrestling. Now, these changes are not going to take place until late 2019. However, the effect of these negotiations between other companies could simply allow for WWE and NBCU to reach a new and better point of agreement for a broadcasting contract renewal. USA could offer as little as a million dollars to add on Impact wrestling, but this could do harm to viewership of both Raw and Smackdown and definitely seems as if it would be an issue for those in WWE management to have their competition on the same network. What do you think about this? Do you think Smackdown Live could be as successful as Monday Night Raw as a 3 hour show?
