Vernon Philander scored 48 from 49 deliveries and took 2/27 in nine overs in the Standard Bank Proteas’ drawn three-day, warm-up match against an India Board Invitational XI team. Keshav Maharaj also impressed, returning figures of 3/35 in 13.1 overs, including four maidens. The warm-up match formed part of the visitors’ preparation ahead of their first appearance in the ICC Test Championship. They will play a three-match series against India starting with their first encounter in Visakhapatnam on October 2nd.
