Raw and SmackDown became two of the most tedious shows to watch in all of wrestling in 2018. It got so bad that ratings fell to a historic low, as authority figures ruined every story and the same few wrestlers kept losing to the same few wrestlers every week, without much change in storyline. There was nothing attractive to watch. Raw had a lacklustre Roman Reigns title challenge towards Brock Lesnar, which then translated into a lacklustre run as champion which was cut short due to real life illness. AJ Styles was so dominant that no competitor seemed worthy enough to beat him, as Samoa Joe and Shinsuke Nakamura destroyed their legitimacy losing to the dominant champ. Reigns leaving the WWE and being replaced by a stale Braun Strowman, an absent champion in Brock Lesnar and a dull authority figure in Baron Corbin caused the lowest ratings in the show’s history. So why is the show so much better now? This is Wrestling Hub and today we will be looking at how and why Raw and SmackDown became interesting shows again.
