The NBA family mourns the loss of the architect of the Chicago Bulls' dynasty in the 1990's, who engineered six NBA championship teams in eight seasons. Krause, a native of Chicago, took over the Bulls' basketball operations department in 1985, following a successful run as a scout for the Baltimore Bullets, Phoenix Suns, Los Angeles Lakers and previously, the Bulls (1969-71). During his NBA career, he was responsible for either drafting and trading for such NBA greats as Earl Monroe, Wes Unseld, Jerry Sloan, Michael Cooper, Scottie Pippen, Toni Kukoc and Dennis Rodman. For his efforts, he was named NBA Executive of the Year by his peers in 1987-88 and 1995-96
