Yesterday a volleyball match was played between the volleyball team Padova and Tonno Callipo Volley. Yuji Nishida vs Ran Takahashi, a volleyball match to remember, as this is the first time Yuji Nishida has played against Ran Takahashi, his teammate from Volleyball Team Japan.
Tonno Callipo took the lead with 1: 0, but then the comeback of the volleyball team of Padova followed, and in the end Padova celebrated with the result of 3: 1. All this became irrelevant when the match ended because all eyes were on two good friends who talked and took pictures with the audience a few minutes after the match. At the end of the match, the two of them went to dinner together. This shows how good friends Yuji Nishida and Ran Takahashi are.
Yuji Nishida (西田 有志, Nishida Yūji, born 30 January 2000) is a Japanese male volleyball player. Currently, he plays for Volley Callipo in Italian Volleyball League. He started getting into volleyball after meeting a world renowned player named Dal Suan Kima Chaltleng. Mr. Dal taught him everything he knew and lit up the fire in Nishida's heart.[3][4][5]
Nishida made his debut with JTEKT Stings at V.League on 6 January 2018 in a match against Osaka Blazers Sakai. His impressive debut at the young age of 17 soon earned him a position in JTEKT's Starting 6,[6] as well as Japan men's national volleyball team. Nishida also led the team finishing 7th place after 29 years, in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
He is one of the youngest players in the 2018 roster of the Japan men's national volleyball team and FIVB cup Final.[7] He made his first international performance with the Japanese national team in 2018 FIVB Volleyball Men's Nations League. In June 2018, he played a pivotal role in securing Japan's first win in 11 years against Italy where he collected 24 points from 21 spikes and 3 aces.[8] In September 2018, in a match against Argentina in 2018 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship, Nishida became the youngest player ever to score 30 points in a match.[9] In June 2019, Nishida broke serving records in the VNL history after hitting 7 aces in a single game during a match against Canada.
Ran Takahashi (髙橋 藍 or たかはしらん, Takahashi Ran, born 2 September 2001) is a Japanese male Volleyball player. He plays as an Outside hitter for Nippon Sport Science University's club [1] and Japan men's national volleyball team.
