This 1979 One-Off Aston Martin Bulldog looks like something out of a science fiction movie!

This 1979 one-off Aston Martin Bulldog is a spectacular car; it looks like something out of a science fiction movie! I saw and filmed it in action during the 2022 edition of the Goodwood Festival of Speed ​​(FOS). With the code name DP K9.01, it was to be produced in between 12 and 25 units, but in reality, this was the only one built. With a typically square shape that frontally recalls the first series of Lamborghini Countach and the Lotus Esprit is equipped with retractable headlights and gull-wing doors. Internally we find the left-hand drive (strange for an English car), sumptuous interiors rich in leather and briar, digital instrumentation and even a screen that works as a rearview camera. To move it, there's a 5.3-litre twin-turbo V8 engine capable of developing 600 Hp and 678 Nm of torque for a maximum recorded speed of 307 km/h. The car has undergone several colour changes and restorations until it reached the current owner, Philip Sarofim, who entrusted it to the Classic Motor Cars specialists who brought it to the splendid conditions you see today.

Questa Aston Martin Bulldog one-off del 1979 è una vettura spettacolare, sembra uscita da un fil di fantascienza! Ho avuto la possibilità di vederla e filmarla in azione durante l'edizione 2022 del Goodwood Festival of Speed (FOS). Con il nome in codice DP K9.01 doveva essere prodotta tra i 12 e i 25 esemplari ma in realtà questa è stata l'unica costruita. Con una forma tipicamente quadrata che frontalemnte ricoda le prime serie di Lamborghini Countach e la Lotus Esprit è dotata di fari a scomparsa e portiere con apertura ad ala di gabbiano. Internamente troviamo la guida a sinistra (strano per un'auto Inglese), sontuosi interni ricchi di pelle e radica, strumentazione digitale ed addiruttura uno schermo che funziona come retrocamera posteriore. A muoverla ci pensa un motore da 5.3 litri biturbo V8 capace di sviluppare 600 Hp e 678 Nm di coppia per una velocità massima registrata è di 307 km/h. La vettura negli anni ha subito diversi cambi di colore e restauri fino a giungere all'attuale proprietario, Phillip Sarofim, che l'ha affidata agli specialisti di Classic Motor Cars i quali l'hanno portata alle splendide condizioni che vedete oggi.
