Tiffany Juha (Cape Coral, Fla.), who began playing hockey at age six and credits the game for making her who she is today, has been named the recipient of the 2021 Adult Player of the Year, presented by Labatt Blue.
Juha began her playing career with the boys’ team of South Hills (Penn.) Amateur Hockey Association where players were awarded paw print stickers for assists and goals as badges of honor on helmets – still today one of her favorite memories.
Over the next 20-plus years, Juha went on to play for various teams, including the University of Pennsylvania’s women’s ice hockey team and the U.S. Women’s National University Team, which competed at the 2011 Winter World University Games in Erzurum, Turkey.
Currently, the seasoned forward plays for her local adult hockey league team, the Gulf Coast Seagals, which her family established. Not only does Juha’s twin sister and mother compete alongside her, but her father is the coach.
The Cape Coral, Florida, native is a fifth-grade teacher whose students watch games and cheer her on when she plays. Juha even brings hockey into the classroom as she uses the game as examples of how to be kind to others and act as a team player.
