MCC have long been at the forefront of innovation in cricket and are investigating the possibility for future years of using drop-in pitches on the Nursery Ground.
There are no formal plans in place as yet, with this week’s exercise merely to explore the practicalities of the procedure, but judging by the severe weather Lord’s has experienced in the past few days, the process was certainly put to the test!
