When should kids specialize?

Charles A. Popkin, MD specializes in pediatric, adolescent and adult sports medicine, with an emphasis on the operative and nonoperative treatment of complex knee pathology. Dr. Popkin is passionate about youth sports and has dedicated a large part of his academic efforts to treating and preventing injury in developing athletes. He has also devoted significant effort to the prevention, management and treatment of injuries in ice hockey. He is a team physician for USA Hockey, and also serves on USA Hockey’s National Safety and Protective Equipment Committee.
