Welcome, Nyck de Vries! AlphaTauri AT02 F1 Car Training Day - Imola Circuit - January 25, 2023

The Dutch Nyck de Vries is the new pilot of the AlphaTauri F1 team for the 2023 season and will join his Japanese colleague Yuki Tsunoda. At the end of January, aboard the 2021 AT02 car on the Imola circuit, he took part in a training session to remain active and ready for the upcoming Formula One season. These days of testing took place in parallel with the Ferrari ones at the Fiorano circuit. Nyck de Vries already has a significant racing background; he was the 2019 Formula 2 championship and world champion in the 2020-2021 Formula E season with the Mercedes EQ team. The AT02 single-seater was presented on February 19, 2021, and it's an evolution of the previous model as the chassis is the same, as well as many components. The front is the one that has undergone the most technical changes with a new nose, suspension and steering. The Honda engine has also undergone profound changes. For the 2021 season, it adopts the acronym RA621H and has seen the Japanese technicians led by technical director Toyoharu Tanabe give their best. The aim was to improve reliability and obtain the desired power values. It should be added that at the end of 2021, Honda officially withdrew from F1, transferring the intellectual property and the future development of the power units to Red Bull, of which the AlphaTauri satellite team is a part. The engine is a 1.6-litre V6 Turbo moved by an 8-speed sequential gearbox + reverse. With the body made of carbon fibre, the car's overall weight is 762 kg. Enjoy! ????

L'olandese Nyck de Vries è il nuovo pilota della Scuderia AlphaTauri F1 per la stagione 2023 ed affiancherà il compagno giapponese Yuki Tsunoda. A fine Gennaio, sul circuito di Imola, a bordo della vettura AT02 del 2021 ha preso parte ad una sessione di allenamento con lo scopo di rimanere attivo e pronto per l'imminente stagione di Formula Uno. Questi giorni di test si sono svolti parallelamente a quelli Ferrari sul Circuito di Fiorano. Nyck de Vries ha già un passato nelle corse molto importante, è stato campione 2019 di Formula 2 e campione del mondo nella stagione 2020-2021 di Formula E con il team Mercedes EQ. La monoposto AT02 è stata presentata il 19 Febbraio 2021 e si tratta di un'evoluzione del modello precedente inquanto il telaio è il medesimo così come molta componentistica. La parte anteriore è quella che ha subito le maggiori modifiche tecniche con un nuovo muso, sospensioni e sterzo. Anche il propulsore Honda ha subito profondi cambiamenti. Per la stagione 2021 adotta la sigla RA621H ed ha visto i tecnici Giapponesi capitanati dal direttore tecnico Toyoharu Tanabe dare il massimo. Si è puntato a migliorare l'affidabilità ed ottenere i valori di potenza auspicati. C'è da aggiungere che alla fine del 2021 la Honda si è ritirata ufficialmente dalla F1 cedendo la proprietà intellettuale ed il futuro sviluppo delle power-unit alla Red Bull di cui il team satellite AlphaTauri fa parte. Il propulsore è un'unità V6 Turbo da 1.6-Litri mossa dal cambio sequenziale a 8 rapporti + retromarcia. Con la scocca realizzata in fibra di carbonio il peso complessivo della vettura risulta di 762 kg. Buona visione! ????
