To most people outside of Germany, Leipzig only became a football town in the last decade with the rise of Red Bull. We headed to this East German city to discover a derby between two 4th division clubs, Lokomotiv and Chemie. This fixture brings insight to how the soviet past of a city, and the tradition of community run football in Germany, have created something truly unique.

Today, Chemie and Lokomotiv's fan scenes can generally be stereotyped as far left and far right respectively. However, through it all, both sets of fans have something in common. They don't want their football to come easy, and the community around the stands are far more important than the results on the pitch.
